i have the microsoft wireless optical desktop 700.

the keyboard works great but the mouse (uses 2 aaa) batteries shuts itself off after some time (maybe 1 hour?). I can’t seem to get it to turn itself back on, I have to pop out the batteries and pop them back in. It was bad enough yesterday that I had to reboot the pc, plug back in the usb receiver, pop out the batteries and after some trial and error of pressing the connect on the mouse and the receiver at the same time it finally became responsive again…

is this a common mouse problem (I have an older wireless optical and never this problem, other problems but not this). It’s a couple days old and I should be able to return it or swap for a new one. My main question is, is this a global mouse problem or a mouse problem only with this brand or only this mouse is defective so I should return it.

I apologize if this question has a lot of details! It might be a simple solution that I couldn’t find before… I appreciate any help!

For the past few days, my mouse has kept flashing on and off (the red light on my Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical means it’s on). The computer keeps does the disconnect and reconnect sounds each time it happens. Its being disconnected is usually for less than a second but it’s extremely annoying and it really hinders my computer usage.

I’m sure I haven’t installed anything prior that might affect it and it has been working normally since the problem began. I’ve tried several times to plug the USB cord into the different slots but each had the same result. Sometimes during a disconnect the "USB Device is not detected" message pops up in the corner (I go to device manager to see if there’s some kind of malfunctioned thing but I don’t notice anything… I could be wrong).

My keyboard is a USB one and it’s been working totally fine, however, my printer which is also a USB one doesn’t seem to work anymore (it can be turned on and the driver is installed but it doesn’t print out the tasks I give it).

I’ve searched for help on Google but I couldn’t find a fix. Specific problems like these are incredibly stupid.
The pop-up is actually "USB Device Not Recognized".

I have corded mouse and keyboard, optical mouse. I want to know if it is really worth spending 80 dollars on a new wireless laser mouse and keyboard. If it is, what model do you recommend?
I know you would recommend it, but with corded i´m comfortable and see no need to change. I have a friend that have wireless genius and keeps telling me that it sucks and it eats a lot of battery, is it just him or is it in general?

I bought a micro innovations wireless mouse and keyboard set and I have the keyboard working fine but the mouse driver isn’t for vista, will not install, and I cant find a vista compatible driver. The model is KB982W-F , it seems to be called an optical mouse, has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel, if that helps at all. Makes no sense to me that the keyboard installs but the mouse wont, but I’m so frustrated at this point I’m lost lol. I need help to know what to do asap before I mess up my system any further.
Thank you so much in advance for ANY ideas or help I really appreciate it.

At my work we all use the Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse, Model 1025. All of a sudden my mouse and keyboard synced to everyone else’ss computers, and i control all the movement. Does anyone know how to fix this?
